Snapchat Story Downloader
Type a Snapchat username and see the public stories and highlights on that account. Pick the ones you want and save them before they disappear. Public accounts only — a private account shows nothing to anyone who does not already follow it.
Snapchat story sizes and limits
- Story length
- Up to 60 seconds per snap, split into segments as Snapchat records them.
- Story lifetime
- Twenty-four hours from posting, after which Snapchat deletes it from the app.
- Highlights
- Snaps an account chooses to keep on its public profile. These stay up until the account removes them, so they are the part still here tomorrow.
- Aspect ratio
- 9:16 vertical, the full-screen shape Snapchat records in.
- Recommended size
- 1080 × 1920 pixels, which is what the app captures on a modern phone.
- File type
- MP4 for video snaps and JPG for photo snaps, exactly as Snapchat stores them.
How to download a Snapchat story
- Type the account’s Snapchat username. The profile link works too, and so does a snapchat.com/add/ link.
- Press the button. Every public story and highlight on that account appears, each with its own preview so you can tell them apart.
- Pick the ones you want and save them. A story is gone twenty-four hours after it was posted — from Snapchat as well as from your screen — though highlights stay up until the account removes them.
Frequently asked questions
- Will they know I downloaded their story?
- No. Snapchat tells an account who opened a story inside the app; this page is not the app and never signs in as you, so nothing is added to their viewer list.
- Can I download a private account’s story?
- No, and no tool honestly can. A private story is only served to accounts the person has approved, so there is nothing here to reach. This page opens public profiles only.
- Why do I see highlights but no story?
- Because that account has not posted in the last twenty-four hours. Highlights are the snaps they chose to keep on the profile; a story only exists while it is live.
- Do I need a Snapchat account?
- No. There is nothing to sign in to, and no app to install.
- What happens after twenty-four hours?
- The story is gone from Snapchat’s servers, so it cannot be recovered by this page or any other. If you want it, save it while it is up.
- Can I use what I save?
- It is someone else’s work. Saving it for yourself is one thing; reposting it is another, and that needs the permission of whoever made it.
